This Sofitel location is probably one of the best I’ve been to. It’s a boutique hotel but has all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. All the staff from front desk, drivers, restaurant, room attendant, including the general manager were very helpful. They made sure that we had a wonderful stay. The front desk assisted us with tours and getting in and around town. They even assisted in booking us train tickets to our next destination. The resto staff were always friendly and the food selection was great. We also tried the spa which is a must. They provide a free 5min massage daily in the morning. The staff went above and beyond most 5 star hotels I’ve been to. I can truly say that I will be coming back and would highly recommend to everyone.

La chambre avec piscine, juste splendide. Un lit à été installé pour notre fils , et finalement le directeur a offert une chambre pour lui, ce geste nous a beaucoup touché. Il était présent tous les matins pour saluer ses clients. Espace calme, bien situé, bien entretenu, un sans faute.

Very helpful and friendly stuff. A quiet place which is not really part of the downtown, but close enough to go to the downtown by walk. Probably the best resort in Luang Prabang.

We stayed four nights in this gem of a hotel. We were in a pool villa but also made good use of the main pool. Everything is being taken care of by the most awesome and friendly staff. They literally know the names of all guests. Not only the manager but everyone who spoke with us knew our names. Pretty remarkable. There are cute little bunnies running around in the beautiful gardens and the restaurant is the best in Luang Prabang. I cannot recommend this place enough. It is simply fantastic.

This was easily one of the most luxurious resorts I’ve ever stayed in. It is the previous French Governors mansion that was converted to 20+ room resort with bunnies and other fauna roaming the grounds. The rooms were right out of an Indochina romance with private gardens and an outdoor soaking tub. The stone tiles were pleasant on the feet

one of the best hotels in LP with excellent staff. Very convenient transportation to the downtown every night (to the sister property). The rooms comfort, breakfasts, staff attitude one of the best I have ever seen.

Wonderful wonderful hotel. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly or accommodating. Food was amazing as was the spa. They have friendly little rabbits running around the gardens. Pools was lovely. Would love to stay here again.

Both my son and I had a fantastic stay here, the staff is absolutely amazing in every way. This is by far my favorite hotel in SE Asia. I highly recommend everything including the spa to sophisticated travelers.

Historical atmosphere, French colonial governor’s residence. Great service, friendly staff. They went “the extra mile “, especially, Narin at Reception - a real super star !! Excellent breakfast and service in restaurant.

The staff was kind and the hotel room was clean, so I was so happy. Cooking class was really fun, too. The restaurant staff were very kind, but the meal was generally not delicious.

Just a great place. Congratulation to Sofitel for an excellent job in turning a hostrical mansion into a beautiful 5 star hotel that retains the original charm and combines it with modern amenities. Also great service. The place to be in Luang Prabang!

There is very little I can say that was not fantastic about this property. Wonderful staff, great food, beautiful gardens, private pool, amazing room, very comfortable bed, etc, etc. They give you free access to bikes to cruise the town. They provide bottled water, mosquito spray, and anything else you need, complimentary. The breakfast buffet is amazing. The only "half" complaint I could possibly make would be that anything you buy/order at the resort is quite expensive. Its hard to stomach a $15 pina colada at the pool, when you can get something similar in town for $1. We took a cooking class with Chef John, which really was awesome and we loved every minute of it, but again, quite expensive. Other than that, it was really one of our greatest resort vacations. The local scene is amazing!

직원들이 친절하고 서비스가 좋았다. 다만 호텔스닷컴측의 전상상 오류로 나도 모르게 이 호텔 예약이 되어있어서 이용했고 심지어는 이중예약이 되는바람에 2배의 금액을 물어서 당황했었다. 나중에 메일을 주고받으며 이중예약건은 해결했지만 며칠동안이나 휴식할 시간에 메일보내고 확인하느라 비싼돈주고 호텔에서 뭐하는짓인가 싶었다. 정원에 욕조와 쇼파가 있는 가든을 예약했는데 모기가 정말 많았다. 침실에 모기가 많다고 지나가면서 무심코 말하고 점심을 먹고 들어왔더니 어떤조치를 했는지 모기들이 죽어있었다. 잘때 모기장을 쳐서 물리진않았으나 정원문을 열면 모기들이 신나게 방안으로 들어왔다.1월31일에 묵었는데 수영장은 추웠다.

From the splendid pool to the silent, spacious rooms, this is an amazing property that we will return to when in Laos. We loved this.

We spent 3 nights here and loved every minute. The hotel is a little way out of the centre but it takes 10-15 minutes easy walking to the historic centre of LP or a tuktuk taxi for a few dollars. We used the free hotel bikes as well which it’s a great way to get around the various sights in town. The hotel and grounds are beautifully restored and provide a very lush and restful environment to relax after a day visiting the sights. Complimentary tea and cakes by the pool in the late afternoon was a pleasure greatly appreciated. The staff are attentive and extremely friendly. Breakfast was excellent but we can’t comment on the restaurant as we preferred to explore the many good Lao restaurants in town. We did visit the restaurant of the sister hotel in town, 3 Nagas, and had a great Lao style meal. All in all a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend.

A tremendous hotel with the nicest garden ambiance. The room with two bath tubs, breakfast, pool, spa, personnel; everything superb. Especially liked the "domestic" bunnies living in the garden. Longish walking distance to city center, but there is a shuttle bus in the evenings and there are local restaurants close by. The only way we could have enjoyed it more would have been if we spoke French as upscale old school French vibe.

Beautiful hotel with amazing pool, lovely spacious rooms and attentive friendly service. 15 min walk to center of town, but worth it to be away from the town motorcycle noise. Only downside is not enough local food selections on the restaurant menu. Restaurant and menu need to be more Laotian and less western...even the music seemed a bit off. Otherwise great stay!
