We love this hotel. This hotel used to be the house of the last king and queen of the Kingdom Laos.
We were greeted directly at the Luang Prabang Train Station by the hotel's complimentary shuttle, a thoughtful and welcoming gesture ;) The location was beautiful right by the Mekong River. The location was in the heart of everything and we walked pretty much every where.
The view from our room was beautiful and we certainly enjoyed it. The grounds were immaculate and very well taken care of. The service was amazing and at the reception -receptionist India was so sweet and helpful. She took the time to talk to us and made us feel very welcome.
Lovely breakfast included with Laotian food and fresh fruit, eggs, baguette, jam, meats, coffee/tea. If you’re a coffee lover , there are some great coffee shops on the river and Main Street a couple of minutes away.
The rooms are quite big, clean, and have nice balconies.Very comfy bed! I can confidently say that this one offers the best value for your money. The rustic balcony provides a charming view of the Mekong River and incredibly quiet.
Hotel staff are extremely polite and professional and always greet you with a warm smile. From the front desk staff to the breakfast staff, everyone was so welcoming.
I'd highly recommend Victoria Xiengthong Palace hotel for its peaceful atmosphere, beautiful views, and excellent service. A great choice for a relaxing stay in Luang Prabang! This hotel truly deserves 5 stars!

The hotel staff could not have been kinder or more helpful. The hotel is located on a quiet street across from the Mekong and in the old quarter - peaceful and relaxing! We booked a villa because we were three adults and it was perfect. Simple, clean and very comfy! We would definitely stay here again.

This was my first time visiting Luang Prabang, and it turned out to be a truly wonderful trip.
One of the main reasons was the warm hospitality of the hotel staff. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine smiles, and thanks to the flexible and attentive service provided especially by the male and female reception staff, I was able to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay with complete peace of mind.
During my stay, there was a small issue, but it was resolved very quickly and professionally. I had to ask the reception staff for assistance several times, and each time they responded promptly and kindly with a smile, for which I am truly grateful.
While the town center can often be crowded with tour groups and quite busy, this hotel was quiet, free from group tourists, and located in a peaceful area. It allowed me to fully appreciate the true charm and tranquility of Luang Prabang.
I would definitely love to stay here again.

My partner and I stayed at Victoria Xienthong Palace in December 2025 and had a wonderful experience. The hotel’s location is excellent—within easy walking distance of key attractions such as Wat Xienthong, the morning and night markets, and the old town centre of Luang Prabang.
Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and eager to help. On our departure day, as we had an early flight, the team thoughtfully prepared a very generous takeaway breakfast for us and also provided complimentary airport transfer, which we truly appreciated.
We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a well-located property that is close to major sightseeing attractions yet peaceful enough for a restful night’s stay.

Our stay at Victoria Xiengthong Palace in Luang Prabang was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome — a refreshing drink and a damp towel — set the tone for a truly relaxing and gracious stay.
The hotel itself effortlessly combines royal-palace charm and modern comfort. Our room was beautifully furnished in rich teak wood and traditional Lao-style textiles, giving a sense of heritage and elegance. The bathroom — complete with tub and separate shower — and the comfortable bed made our stay very luxurious.
We especially enjoyed the cooking class and the sunset cruise organised by the hotel — both were well-organized, delightful and gave us a wonderful taste of authentic Lao culture. The cooking class was a great way to learn how to prepare traditional dishes, and the setting for the sunset cruise was magical.
The staff deserves special mention: kind, genuinely welcoming and attentive to every wish. We felt taken care of from arrival to departure, which made the stay even more special.
Location is perfect — peaceful and quiet, yet just a short stroll from the old town, near the river and close to the bustling night market and charming cafés.
All in all, Victoria Xiengthong Palace offers a flawless blend of heritage, comfort, and warm Lao hospitality. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here — it is a true gem in Luang Prabang, and I would stay here any time again.

朝食が川を眺めながら、外で食べることができて良かったです。オムレツがとても美味しく、作っている姿を頼んで見せてもらったほどです。欧米人が私ももここのオムレツが美味しい。夫婦で2個目だよ。とおかわりしていました。ベトナムのフォーみたいなフーも美味しかったので、朝食は特にこのホテルにして良かったです。
街の治安も良く歩いて観光できますが、チェックアウトした後も自転車を貸してくれて、助かりました。
唯一残念だったのは、シャワーを浴びながら、バスタブのお湯を張れない所。どちらかのようでした。ても、ラオスだし、こういうものかなと許容範囲でした。時期かもしれませんが、この素晴らしい部屋と素敵な朝食と空港送迎付きで1万3000円で、満足しています。
他の王族住居ホテルも気になり、泊まりましたか、お値段はその2.5倍のため、次回来る時はここをメインにゆっくり滞在しようと思いました。

I stayed at Victoria Xiengthong Palace for 3 nights and had a truly memorable experience.
The pre-arrival communication was smooth, and the complimentary airport transfer made the arrival stress-free. My room was very clean with beautiful Lao-style interior design, which gave me a real sense of the local culture.
The staff were attentive and always thoughtful, which made me feel very welcome. Breakfast was à la carte with several options to choose from, so I never got bored even after 3 mornings.
The hotel is located right next to the UNESCO World Heritage temple, which makes the atmosphere especially calm and quiet both day and night. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay in Luang Prabang, I highly recommend this hotel.

いい古さです。古いですが、キレイに掃除がされておりいい気持ちで過ごせました。街の雰囲気にあっていい感じでした。スタッフの笑顔が素敵なホテルです。中心地からは少しだけ歩きますがすぐ横にとても有名なお寺があり、朝に気軽に訪ねることができました。

トラブルで到着が深夜2時頃になってしまいましたが、事前に連絡したところ、調整して到着を待っていてくださいました。
ホテル内も綺麗で雰囲気が良く、リラックスさて滞在できました。
本当にありがとうございました。

2度目のルアンパバーン旅行で、前回はメコン川を渡った所のホテルだったので、町へ出るために、毎回怖い橋(old bridge)を通るのが辛かった。
今回のホテルは市街の中心にあるので、どこへ行くのも徒歩で間に合い、郊外の村(紙漉き村、機織り村)へはホテルから自転車で50分くらいで行かれた。

Fantastic historical hotel with lovely surroundings right on the Mekong. Excellent room with views to the river. Manager and staff were all wonderful and friendly. We look forward to returning here soon.

Beautiful historical property managed by kind, professional, and attentive staff. We enjoyed a wonderful 2-night/3-day stay there in May 2025. The hotel is clean, peaceful, and excellently-located close to the river, the night market, and all of the temples. We highly recommend staying at this property. It is a perfect base from which to explore Luang Prabang.

スタッフの方々がとても親切だった。立地もとても良かったのでまた利用したいです。
気になった点としては
部屋は初日にまだ使っていないバスルームに髪の毛がたくさん落ちていたのが気になったのとドライヤーや部屋のキーの接触が悪いのか急にドライヤーが止まってしまったり部屋の電気が切れてしまう事が何度もありました。

良かった点：
スタッフが親切で親身に対応してくれる。朝食も毎日変化し、おいしい。部屋も広く快適。2階建てのコテージが複数建っている形式。
ホテルの前で托鉢がみられる。ワット・シェントーン至近。中心街からも近く便利だが、人通りは少なく静かな場所。
ホテル独自のツアーや、料理教室などもある。レストランからメコン川もみられる。
悪かった点：
シャワー側のお湯はでたが、バスタブ側のお湯は低温、かつ水をはるのに時間がかかるくらい水の出が悪い。
暑い国の夏場の暑さ対策として、日陰の涼しい部屋つくりになっており、1階の部屋は日当たりはそれほどよくなく暗い。冬の朝晩は、クーラーしかない（暖房はない）ので、温かい服装は準備した方がよい。

Excellent, friendly staff. Great location. (Note that the River View rooms are not actually on the river, but they do have glimpses of the river) Wonderful breakfast in a lovely restaurant setting by the street. Rooms are very nice, good-sized. Our only complaint is there was no wifi in our rooms for our entire 5-day stay. We asked for that to be fixed several times, but it never was. We had to sit in the reception office to do a video call and to do our internet tasks. But if that is fixed, or if you don’t need wifi, this is a great place to stay.

This is one of my favorite places I have ever stayed. Extremely accommodating, beautiful property, and fantastic food. Just far enough outside of the main part of town to enjoy the quiet and peaceful nature of the Mekong, but easily walkable to all of the tourist areas. They provided help with all of the tours for very reasonable prices and I even took a cooking class on site that was an amazing experience that included shopping at the morning market. If you can spring for the executive suite and enjoy your private jacuzzi room, well worth it!

It's a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. There was a hiccup with the room initially -- not the hotel's fault. The website pictures didn't match with what we saw. This is because every room is different. They were very quick to help us, and everything worked out. It was a great stay, and the staff are truly engaged and helpful.
The location of the hotel is quiet, yet just a short walk to the main road, night market etc. Given that the building was previously a palace, it is very charming and unique. Highly recommend the Victoria Xiengthong for a special Luang Prabang experience.

Great location right across the river. Morning breakfast is beautiful. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The bed is very very firm. I would stay here again.

We enjoyed the peacefulness and excellent location of the resort..with Mekong riverside and Vat Xiengthong nearby...the service offered by staff was super as well..we're well taken care by Tri, the manager...whpse professional service and care were highly appreciated by our group.

Victoria Palace was a great spot for a stay in Luang. Right on the Mekong River. The staff was super sweet and friendly and helpful. They helped us book last minute boat trips, tuk tuk rides to the waterfall and airport transfers. Very well maintained and clean property! Highly recommended for a stay in Luang. Close to everything but not right on the main road either.

The hotel reminds me of the small luxury hotel. The service was excellent. The location is perfect. The hotel is a block away from the hustle and bustle while still located centrally. I had a marvelous stay.The property is on the monks' morning route which means that you don't have to get up too early see the morning ritual which you should see.

What a magical place. Stunning architecture, friendly service staff and manager - everybody was so well trained and always doing their best. One of the most vegan friendly places I have gone to in Asia. They really made an effort to cook special meals. Noy’s massages were just amazing - she has a very gentle touch. I slept in 103 Hibiscus 1 - super spacious room that smelled like frangipani. The bathroom was equipped with l’Occitane products and the bed was super comfortable. I loved my stay and will return. The road on which the hotel is is SUPER quiet - much quieter than the main roads. This used to be the late king and queens’s last place of residence - i thought you could feel that. Highly recommend!! Also - no mold anywhere I was in that hotel.

メコン川沿いの部屋でしたが、道路挟んで、かつ、木々もあるため、すごく近いというわけではありません。
メイン通り（ナイトマーケットなど）からは10分ほど歩く距離にありますが、その分静かな環境が整っています。

I would definitely stay at Victoria Xiengthong Palace again! There are many staff members; every one was professional in their charge. I especially liked the breakfast buffet with all the food choices, both local and international. The service in the dining and spa areas were exceptional and accommodating. The hotel is on the the northern part of the ancient city, so it is quieter than places toward the market and center of town. The most important temples are in the area of the hotel and the banks of both rivers are 1 or 2 minutes by foot. You can access boats, cafes and restaurants. All quiet places to sit and enjoy Luang Prabang. The main street and markets are just 10 to 15 minutes walk, too. The airport shuttle is convenient. For all these reasons I would love to return to Victoria Xiengthong Palace

2人で宿泊したのだが、2人目がシャワーを浴びる時はほぼ毎回お湯が出なくなるので改善した方がいいと思う。
