Set in a quiet village centre; this hotel was just lovely. A warm welcome from the host, who explained everything about the room and gave me pointers to all the restaurants/bars nearby. Comfy bed, lovely shower and bath, Nespresso machine, smart TV which also had BBC 1/2/News for us travelling from the UK. I travelled to the country by train and there is an excellent bus service from Amsterdam to Monnickendam; where it's about a 10 minutes walk to the hotel. No need for cash as they take contactless/apple pay/gpay and the Amsterdam Regional Ticket which covers the buses,trams,metro,and local rail services. The continental breakfast was good.
For me, this was the perfect, affordable and peaceful hotel away from the hustle, bustle, prices and chaos of Amsterdam City Centre
I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay! Room was very comfortable and clean, great SPA facilities and a very good breakfast.
We had a dinner reservation at the restaurant that wowed us on arrival but left very disappointed after the meal. Menu was disappointing and overpriced. Need to hire a new chef and less more attentive staff.

The staff were kind and so hopeful and gave amazing recommendations for dining. There is an enchanting bakery only a few steps from the Posthoorn. It was a quiet and cozy reprieve from city adventuring.

Lieux vraiment charmant et rempli d'histoire. Personnel très accueillant et serviable, chambre très spacieuse et agréable.
Seul petits détails, le manque de lumière dans la chambre, le manque de prise de courant pour recharger son téléphone et des petits détails de nettoyage comme une très grosse toile d'araignée au plafond mais vraiment rien de grave comparé au charme de l'endroit.

Luxurious, stylish and spacious suite with historic details. Everything was perfect. The staff were friendly and breakfast good.

Very attractive room, in a lovely reconditioned old building. Easy and fast public transport options into Amsterdam and lovely Edam are nearby. The area around Suitehotel Posthoorn is very scenic and walkable, with many restaurants and bars.

A wonderful stay - we stayed in the family suite which was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was good and made to order. Staff very helpful and friendly, including to the children. Would highly recommend.

I didn't like the bathroom being in the bedroom with transparant doors of glass. I like more privacy.
I liked the kingsize bed with reasonably good matresses.

We really liked the accommodations and the hospitality of the staff. I highly recommend the breakfast option as the food was wonderful along with amazing service! I definitely would return to this hotel!

Older building with stairs but very charming and well kept, great food and the staff are warm, friendly, accommodating and helpful. Hope to stay in the future.

Ons verblijf was perfect. Parkeren op privé terrein achter het hotel. Mooie kamer met historische details en modern comfort. Vriendelijk personeel en buitengewoon lekker uitgeserveerd (!) ontbijt. Een echte aanrader dit hotel.

The hotel was perfect for our family of 5 and the hotel front desk clerk was fantastic! Mark made our stay. We very much appreciated the packed breakfast left in the cooler at 4:30 am. Thank you! The local little town was very quaint and we actually preferred it over Amsterdam.

Great little village just north of Amsterdam. Plenty of buses to take us into Amsterdam and elsewhere. Comfortable hotel . Breakfast a bit pricey but otherwise I would recommend it.

The suite we stayed in was lovely , however the pillows were all lumpy and could be better quality. More tea bags /milk in the room would be better; especially when catering for Uk customers. The staff were very helpful and professional

The hotel is beautiful, very beautiful town and good location to visit nearby places of interest.
The breakfast is not up to a 4-star hotel, we have been waiting half an hour for breakfast since there is only one person to serve everyone, (it is not self-service) paper napkins like the ones you get in a döner kebab, and having a very good coffee machine they don't even know how to make a good cappuccino. poor breakfast There was never anyone at the reception, little staff.

It was a good stay. A pity, that the hotel doesn't have a restaurant any more. We spoke with the receptionist about it and he informed us, that it was/is not easy to find people who would like to lead a restaurant.
Beside this we were happy with our stay at the Posthoorn.

Super nice staff, very clean and nicely furnished rooms. But the air conditioning does not manage to cool the room, terrace in front of the room a bit overgrown.

Fint og hyggeligt hotel. Lidt variation i morgenmaden ville ikke skade. Lidt problemer med bookningen / hotellet vedr. priser på turistskat og parkering ved afrejse …. Men blev klaret fint.

Nettes kleines Hotel in Monnickendam. Wer den Trubel in Amsterdam umgehen will kann hier übernachten. Das Hotel hat ein Restaurant, mit einem Michelin-Stern ausgezeichnet. Teuer aber vielleicht muss man das machen für den Stern? Der Ort ist beschaulich.

De kamer was prima en ontbijt ook prima !
Alleen de matras is echt aan vervanging toe!
Ik ben iemand die altijd overal slaapt maar had echt pijn aan mijn rug en mijn man ook.
En de ronde raampjes misschien zorgen dat die afgedekt kunnen worden? Veel licht in de kamer

Prettige, niet te uitvoerige toelichting bij de gerechten.
Goede afstemming van gerechten en wijnen. Heerlijk eten.
Enkele slordigheidjes: ondanks dat was doorgegeven dat iemand allergisch was voor koriander werd het toch geserveerd. Bij de afrekening werden de kortingsbonnen (wel vooraf doorgegeven) niet meegerekend.
Overigens werd dit meteen goed opgelost.

The description of the hotel on the website is not true. The photo of the hotel from the outside is confusing because the hotel looks different.
There is no staff in the hotel all the time. We arrived and could not leave our things until 3 o'clock.
Breakfast is very late. В 8.30. We warned that we were leaving at 8, but we paid for breakfast.
Nothing was offered to us.
