The room was clean, comfortable bed, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There are lots of choices for restaurants and cafes nearby and the beach was a 5 second walk across the road. Would definitely stay there again

Perfect for one night at the end of my holiday in the Maldives. Got off my live on boat at 7 am and walked to the hotel from the jetty on Hulhumale. The lovely staff were able to give me an early check in - having been WiFi deprived for a week I was happy to be on my phone for 15 minutes while they cleaned the room. Lovely spacious super clean room with ensuite bathroom on first floor. Little table and chairs on the landing overlooking the road towards the sea. Very comfortable bed and a delicious breakfast - my last Maldivian breakfast and staff organised a very reasonably priced taxi to the airport for me. The sea was close but I didn't swim. Very easy to walk along the beach and very close to local shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Would definitely recommend especially for a night in Malé after or before a holiday in the Maldives.The staff were always so lovely and price was very reasonable.

Quick stop overnight to catch the boat to resort early in the morning. Hotel is small and gets quite noisy at night time but also very convenient for the one night stay. staff was friendly and very helpful taking every question and request very seriously

Man får vad man betalar för. För det priset så var det prisvärt. Ett litet hotell med små utrymmen, men väldigt trevlig personal och väldigt bra läge mitt emot stranden.
Finns en hel del restauranger inom gångavstånd. För övrigt finns ju inga attraktioner i trakten, förutom stranden. Mitt emot hotellet fanns ett ställe som hyrde ut vattenleksaker om man känner för det.

Vi har stannat en vecka och trivts jättebra på hotellet. Fin personal, god service dygnet runt. Bästa läge då hotellet ligger vid stranden. Det var bara kliva in i vatten när som helst. Vi bodde högst upp och hade terass. Det var trevligt att njuta av morgonstunder och sköna kvällar där.

Friendly staff and great airport pickup - I recommend adding this option. Hotel is very clean and as expected. Quad room suited family of four , no problem.

Stayed for a night before transferring to resort. Pleasantly surprised. Airport pickup and drop off was seamless. Decent beach to stroll on. Breakfast served on beach. Room was ok, nothing special. Perfect for our quick overnight stay.

It was a wonderful stay. I chose the hotel for a day use (I had made a payment for a night stay) and asked for an early check-in priorly. The hotel said as long as all rooms are booked it would offer an early check in. I was at hotel 8am and recieved a room key within 10 minutes;-) Room was comfortable and clean. Linen is colour of Maldivian beach (blue and white) which I liked the most. Staff were excellent. Recommended restaurant was really nice and they arrange a taxi to the airport on time.
If you are looking for a hotel after a liveaboard this hotel is good option. It's only 1km walk from the ferry terminal

Really good transit hotel near the airport with transfer to and from the airport. Good facilities; the only observation is that the bed mattress is rock hard, as noted in other reviews. I like a firm mattress, so for me it wasn't an issue.

When comparing Planktons Beach to neighbouring guest houses, Planktons Beach stands out as the best maintained. Friendly atmosphere. Great location.

Nettes kleines Hotel direkt am Strand. Wir verbrachten eine Nacht zur Überbrückung - Transfer zur Urlaubsinsel und Flughafen - dort. Tolles Frühstück direkt am Strang. Super Pick-Up-Service. Der Fahrer hat sich auch um die Transfer Zeit zur Insel gekümmert, nachdem wir von unserem Insel Resort leider die versprochene Info nicht bekommen hatten. Toller Service! Wir würden wieder dort einchecken.

Email tuloajastamme (risteilyltä) ei kai tullut hotellille, koska kukaan ei ollut vastassa lentoasemalla. Jouduimme soittamaan ja odottamaan kuumassa. Taksi olisi kai tullut halvemmaksi.. Toinen minus oli, että kattoterassimme oli yhteinen (kai koko talon kanssa). Siellä tupakoitiin ja puhuttiin äänekkäästi vielä yhden jälkeen yöllä.
Muuten kaikki oli tosi hyvin! Näkymät terassilta kivat, tähtitaivaskin näkyi, myös Etelän Risti! Hyvä WiFi. Olimme vain yhden yön, emme siis laittaneet jääkaappia päälle emmekä käyttäneet TV:tä. Emme uineet, vaikka ranta näytti kivalta. Hyviä ruokapaikkoja ja kauppoja on lähellä.

Hotel about ten to fifteen minutes in their own pre-booked taxi from airport and across road from beach. Clean and presentable with a comfortable bed.

Bra hotel og hyggelig betjening.
Rommet var bra men toalett luktet fuktig/urin og det hjalp ikke å ha vinduet oppe for å lufte.
Plassering av hotellet er veldig bra, sentralt og med tilgang til mange spisesteder og butikker. Ligger rett ved kilometer med Strandlinje men siden den er offentlig Strand så er det ikke tillat med bikini på stranden.

The rooms were smaller than expected, going by the photos on the website, a bit dated, but clean & tidy. The staff were wonderful, friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was nice and the view out the front was gorgeous! Thankyou

I would give a 5 out of 5, for this one night stay except for some safety issues. The staff was great, room clean, all was as expected. The safety issues were that the bathroom window was falling out, and the stairs were uneven and slippery. My husband fell but fortunately he’s athletic and didn’t get too hurt. Overall it was a clean, easy overnight stay and I would recommend.

Great choice for an overnight stay near the airport. Nice room clean with good AC. Only drawback was that there did not seem to be hot water. Nice breakfast included- served on the beach.

Nice breakfast, helpful staff though not everyone is good in English;
Water pressure of shower is not enough, some window locks r broken, curtain not blocking light effectively and difficult to slide;

Clean hotel which is situated right in front of the beach. Staff was really helpful too. Had our breakfast prepared for us while we enjoy the view of the sea.

Left comments in the reservation that I needed hotel transfers, and also messaged via Expedia the day before check-in, but no response. At the airport, no one was carrying their hotel sign at the arrival hall. Had to get Information to call the hotel, which did send someone to meet us at the taxi stand. We had room 101 which face the street and the Beach Club, so it can be a bit noisy, even late at night. We could also hear the kid next door crying, and guests having breakfast right outside our room the next morning.
Other than these irritations, the room itself was clean and the bathroom had a proper shower mixer which worked. They even provided small bottles of toiletries and drinking water, which is something you can't take for granted in these small hotels. The towel I had was unfortunately threadbare in patches and there was a mouldy patch on the ceiling, but we were there only for 9 hour so can live with it.

Close to beach and airport. Transfers to airport on time. Responsive to messages. Clean rooms with full breakfast was a surprise and tasty. Great experience and above expectations

Booked 2 rooms - one for my parents and one for myself. Hotel does not have adjoining rooms, but they do have 3 rooms on each level. My parents were upgraded to their suite (a bigger room), which was a nice surprise (there was a sign in the suite that you will receive a bottle of coke in the room, but we didn't get it even after asking. maybe there is a catch or certain T&Cs to be fulfilled).
The rooms were clean with 1 bottle of water and hotel amenities, like towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion provided.
My room had a beetle on the throw pillow, which wasn't a big deal, as it's part of nature.
Overall, it was a good experience, and will likely come back to stay.

It was a short stay for us on the way from resort islands to an international flight. The staff at Planktons were very helpful in all respects. The room was nice for the budget and you can’t beat the location, across from the action on the beach. The wifi worked great too, always a plus.

We spent a night at Planktons before going out to one of the islands. The hotel is in a good position right on the beach. Our room was on the small side but was clean and OK for a short stay. The best part of the hotel was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We flew into Male at about10.30pm and had asked to hotel to arrange a transfer. We were greeted by friendly driver who carried our bags to the car. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted with a smile, a refreshing towel and a cool drink. Next morning we had breakfast on the beach which was a nice experience. We were then driven to the airport by the same driver and he made sure we were at the correct check in point and didn't leave us until a representative from our island destination had taken over. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Airport transfers were only $7 p.p. each way

basic good accommodation. customer service was pretty bad. we couldn't get a free breakfast even though it was supposed to be part of the room reservation. we couldn't argue about it so we went elsewhere to eat

Wir hatten ein Penthouse-Zimmer reserviert mit Terrasse. In der Tat war das einfach eingerichtete Zimmer viel kleiner als übliche Hotelzimmer und zudem mussten wir die Terrasse mit einem Nachbar teilen. Dieser war selber auch erschrocken, dass er die Terrasse teilen muss. Wir haben am nächsten Tag umgebucht und sind auf eine andere Insel. Das Hotel haben wir nicht so angetroffen, wie beschrieben und der Preis pro Nacht ist es nie wert. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht.

This hotel is ok for one night. I took the suite room with terrace and it was fine; The other rooms have no view. Bed quality good and shower room refurbished good. The furnitures are too old and some parts broken. TV box not working to get international channels.

Service is not professional. The manager is not so friendly and when i asked a receipt for the green tax of 12 USD is simply said no recipt and put the cash into his own wallet....
Do not expect the view even ocean view because trees block completely the view. too bad because the hotel is right in front of the sea.
For the beach as Maldives is a muslim country u need to respect their religion and woman have to be covered to swim. No good snorkeling in front as corals is destroyed.

Hyggelig betjening som hentet oss på flyplassen - og vartet oss opp på alle måter! Vi fikk smake lokal frokost - noe som var litt morsomt! Leiligheten var romslig, lys og pen - særlig pent bad og senger med gode dyner og puter. Et pluss var også takterrassen som ble brukt flittig hver kveld til kortspill og boklesing. God aircondition også! Kort til både strand og sentrum.

After a stay in a resort, we booked a hotel in Hulhumale (for the 6-7 hours of layover in Male before our international flight) instead of Male City itself because it is just a car-ride (as opposed to a boat trip) to the airport.

Location by the beach was nice but the place needs help. We had to fight ants all night and we were on the top floor. The safe didn't work. It was impossible to lock the unit from the inside! No elevator but the staff will carry your luggage. When we checked in, they asked us what time and where we would like breakfast. On our terrace at 9 was the answer. At 9:30 I called to ask where our breakfast was and they had no idea we were supposed to have it!

Due to timings of our home flight we had to make an overnight stop in Male after leaving our Maldive island (Komandoo). Despite contacting the hotel beforehand, no-one was there to meet us. Eventually, (nearly two hours later) someone appeared to collect us (no apology) and we got to the hotel after dropping off some other guests at different hotels.
Putting this behind us we looked forward to getting to our room and relaxing. There is no lift and a very narrow staircase, so two staff helped with our luggage. It was only a one man job as we could carry the rest, but of course both stood waiting at the door for a tip. Wouldn't have minded giving a tip if they had explained something about the room, but alas no.
We then spent the next hour or so traipsing up and down the stairs to get someone to come up and explain how things worked, such as the TV, as there were no instructions and there was no signal with just switching it on.
There was no hot water not even luke warm for the shower, both in the evening nor the morning.The bed was very hard and unfortunately for us we were next door to a noisy family who arrived late at night. Distinct lack of soundproofing between the rooms!
The room itself was small & clean, but tired and nothing like the photos on various websites.
The breakfast was poor, but nice being served at a small table on the beach.
The return journey to the airport was good and on time. The shuttle is NOT free.
Overall, this was not value for money.

they are tiny, smelly, old and noisy.
