The room was lovely with a large bathroom and a basket of helpful notions that made our stay particularly enjoyable. The bar and restaurant were both excellent and the breakfast was particularly tasty.

Did not use breakfast or bar but the coffee bar and water station on the floor was great

We really enjoyed our stay at Volkhaus! Two Americans traveling to Switzerland, and we were very pleased with our room, the customer service, and location. Our room was large with plenty of space, but simple and easy. The beds were comfortable as well! We were close to everything we were looking for as well. Highly recommend!

The staff member who greeted us at 8:20 in the morning was very helpful. She provided us with maps and Basel visitors passes as well as offered to hold our luggage until our room was ready. Everyone was very helpful and friendly towards us.

Ein tolles Hotel in Gehdistanz zu allen Möglichkeiten, mit moderner Einrichtung. Die Baselcard ist super und die Bags um sich im Rhein treiben zu lassen sind genial. Zuerst waren wir etwas erstaunt über den Preis des Frühstücks, doch es war sehr reichhaltig und ausserordentlich vielseitig. Es hat sich gelohnt. Werden es wieder besuchen.

Modern, funky hotel in a great location. Rooms were spacious and reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Basel.

Great stay! Highly recommend. Perfect neighbourhood - walkable to most sights plus great connections to public transport. On site restaurant is magnificent as well including a cute courtyard to enjoy in warmer days. The Junior Suite was very spacious and well designed.

Tolles Boutique Hotel mit Bar und Restaurant. Perfekte Lage. Nettes Personal. Bahncard Basel inbegriffen, was Ausflüge erleichtert. Bus zum Vitra Museum vor Ort. Wir würden wieder kommen.

I loved this hotel!! This hotel is modern, clean, and well thought out. The is bar is wonderful, and the food is tasty. I would not hesitate to book again should I stay in Basel!

This is a very attractive, modern hotel in a lovely older building. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. We appreciated the design and eco-friendly touches. The only downside was the room was very warm and the thermostat seemed unable to go below a set temperature. We had to open the windows to cool off. Otherwise, a really nice stay.

The staff are outstanding! So helpful, we forgot a converter to charge our phones and they loaned one to us, answered countless questions and gave us walking directions for everything. This is so centrally located to shopping, museums, and restaurants. Only wish we knew to make reservations at their restaurant when we booked the room - they were fully booked the one night we had open to visit. Book here, you won't regret it!

We stayed here 2 nights to visit the Christmas market and the location was perfect. Room was small but all you need for a good rest and staff was wonderful!

Ideal gelegenes Stadthotel im Kleinbasel. Gegend ist zwar lärmig aber mit gschlossenen Fenstern geht es 😅 Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Zimmer zweckmässig.

Das Zimmer war großzügig, ruhig und sauber.
Die Kopfkissen sind arg durchgelegen und sollten für ein 4 Sterne Hotel unbedingt ausgewechselt werden.

Great location near the centre of Basel. Don’t get a room facing the street though as it’s crazy noisy early in the morning and there is a church bell that rings through the night. Also don’t book breakfast using hotels.com it’s cheaper to do it on site - don’t know why but you will save money. Rooms spacious and very clean. Coffee machine didn’t work and there is no kettle for tea. But there is a Starbucks 50m away.

Gut gelegenes Hotel im Herzen von Kleinbasel während den Fasnachtstagen genossen. Vor dem Morgestraich wird Mehlsuppe offeriert. Guter Komfort und Service. Preislich sicherlich an der oberen Grenze.

Comfortable well situated hotel, suitable for short stays. Food quality was excellent, although somewhat pricey. Bed was comfortable and the shower very nice. Only complaint is that the hallways and rooms are decorated in dark colours and dimly lit.

Great hotel, beautiful rooms. Hotel bar is great. You can use the gym just 50m down the road. Great area of Basel to be in, easy to walk or get the tram/bus everywhere. The first two nights I was in a room facing the road that was extremely noisy, thankfully they moved me to a courtyard room which was much quieter.

The hotel was lovely but overpriced for what it is. The staff is very friendly and helpful! They did let us check in early which was helpful.

Brasserie hatte geschlossen was ein Hauptgrund für die Buchung des Hotels war, das Personal war sehr freundlich, das Zimmer, Dusche und Flure zu dunkel gehalten für Menschen mit Augenschwäche eine Herausforderung und im Zimmer die Klimaanlage nicht ausschaltbar, ständiges Brummen der Anlage und Luftgebläse in Richtung Kopf rauben den Schlaf
