A wonderful hotel in the centre. The staff were friendly and amenable. The room was great, if you don’t mind stairs (which I don’t).
There was also a very pleasant garden.

I stayed here for a last-minute, budget-friendly holiday, and it was a great choice! I had some doubts after reading mixed reviews, but everything turned out better than expected.
The location is excellent – just a short walk to shops and tourist spots. I highly recommend using the metro to and from Central Station; it’s super easy and much cheaper. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. The only minor issues were the thin walls (I could hear the neighbours, but they were fine) and the water taking a bit longer to heat up late at night – but no big deal. Stairs are a given with Amsterdam too so I didn't mind walking up the stairs.
One of the highlights of my experience was meeting Jasmine, a staff member I spoke with towards the end of my stay. I didn’t interact much with anyone throughout my solo trip but our brief conversation left a lasting impression. She shared her experiences of living and studying in Amsterdam, and it was such an insightful chat. It truly made my get away complete. Wishing Jasmine all the best in her future endeavors – she’s truly a gem!
For the price, it’s an excellent place to stay, and I’d recommend it for anyone looking for a budget-friendly option in a prime location.

Excellent location, very walkable location. No elevator so pack lite. Staff wwnt above and beyond to accommodate my very late arrival, he even helped with luggage up 4 flights of stairs. I'd definitely stay again.

Good value for money and very nice staff.
Very walkable area. Tiny room but comfy and cosy.
(Beware the lack of elevator with luggage!! Only to be expected from a lovely old building in Amsterdam.)

I Had a great stay in this hotel. Easy and near access to the centre of town. A very quiet sourounding. Friendly staff and a clean hotel. I highly recommend hermitage hotel, Amsterdam.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, modern and a comfy warm place to return to rest after being on your feet all day taking in the sights, particularly during the winter. About a 15 minute walk from the centre and in a beautiful spot surrounded by canals. Would definitely recommend

I was nice and in a good location. Unfortunately I had very noisy neighbors the first night but the front desk person took care of that right away and the rest of my stay was restful.

Excellent location - metro/trams 2 min walk away but really not needed if you like walking. Reception opentil 12 midnight and staff very friendly and helpful. Shower lovely and hot. Beds comfy and rooms cleaned daily with clean towels. Hairdryer good. Kettke in room butno tea/coffee supplied so take your own.

In general, a decent hotel with a great location.
The staff were super friendly and helpful.
The rooms and general condition of the premises are pretty worn out.
Overall, a great hotel for the price. I’d definitely recommend others to pick this hotel if they are going to Amsterdam and are looking for a calm area, yet still close to the city center and RAI.

It’s a great location. Walking distance to sites and a short walk to a bus tour stop, but the area is quiet and less crowded. It’s an old building and the rooms reflect that but they were clean and upgraded as much as possible. No elevator! And the stairs are old, spiral and narrow. We enjoyed the courtyard garden at the end of the day.
As a family of 4 I booked the 4 single beds. But beware, these beds are more narrow than North American twin beds. My youngest fell off twice and I even fell off one night while sleeping!

Clean and friendly. Really pretty townhouse in lovely location. Room was a little tatty and very noisy as was ground floor so people walked past and noise from room above.

Das Hotel hatte eine ideale Lage in der Innenstadt und doch ruhig gelegen. Das Zimmer war mit dem Notwendigsten ausgestattet. Das Bad war sehr klein, sodass man sich kaum bewegen konnte. Generell war es sehr hellhörig im Zimmer.

I liked the location and honestly didn’t mind the stairs I think it makes it more fun getting up and down. But the bathroom is quite small and caused couple problems there. Other than that it was a great stay! Thank you!

The hotel is in a good location opposite the Hermitage Museum. You have free access to the gardens and coffee shop in the garden, which was lovely as we had sunny weather. We were able to walk to the flower market and plenty of bars and restaurants. You are just a 5 minute walk away from the metro, 2 stops from Central Station. The tram was a longer walk because renovations were being carried out on the bridge. We, 3 friends had the triple room on the second floor overlooking the canal and Museum. It was just a base for us, to explore the Museums, it was clean and reasonably spacious. The shower room was a bit snug but no problem for us. I would recommend this hotel if you don't have mobility problems, there is no lift and with all 16th century properties in Amsterdam the staircase is steep and quite narrow. All in all, for us it was perfect, we would stay here again.

Das Hotel ist von der Metro zu Fuß erreichbar. Die Lage ist sehr schön, mit ein paar Minuten Fußmarsch kommt man in die Stadt die wirklich wunderschön ist. Vieles ist nur 1-2 km entfernt so das man keine Bahn braucht.
Die Zimmer sind wirklich sehr klein, wenn man auf Toilette sitzt als großer Mann bekam man die Tür gerade noch zu weil die Knie im Weg waren. Zu zweit drin oder mit Kind funktioniert nicht. Die Sauberkeit naja da muss ich wirklich ein Punkt abziehen, trotz dessen waren wir mit allem zufrieden und würden auch nocheinmal dort einchecken.

The location is perfect! You can have a short walk to the city center. The rooms are clean and helpful staff. The only downside is that the building is old with thin walls so you might not have a good night sleep if there was a noisy guests near in the rooms near you.

Very handy location. Peaceful, yet within easy access to everything. Only 30mins in total with tram/metro (350m walk) +train to the airport! Stairs are very steep, not for people with difficulties to walk, for us okay. No mini-fridge, which would be very much needed as no restaurants or mini-markets in immediate distance.

A ways away from the train station, but close to nearby transport. Close enough to walk to numerous things like the National Theater, Anne Frank House, Cheese Museum, etc. Narrow hall and steep stairs as expected of Amsterdam hotels, no elevator. Room was clean but had tiny flaws which don't really matter. Our room was next to the stairs and we did hear some footsteps at times. We happened to be here on the last portion of our Europe trip during the COVID-19 shutdown of all sit down restaurants and a number of stores in Amsterdam. Hotel was more than willing to help us make sure we were able to find things to do that were still open and make sure we could find food as well. Great hotel breakfast similar to hostel style, lots of options, best breakfast of our four hotels. I'd stay here again 100% due to the staff handling everything during the trying times.

Localização excelente,bom café da manhã. Mas não há elevador,pois se trata de um prédio antigo e os degraus são muito estreitos. Um banheiro limpo,o único porém é que não tinha box, então precisávamos tomar muito cuidado pra não enxarcar o quarto todo, a solução foi colocar uma toalha no chão pra absorver toda a água enquanto tomávamos banho.

Amazing location walking distance to everything, also extremely clean room and fresh sheets and towels every day. Was an awful lot of stairs which we didn’t mind but would take into consideration depending on your stature when booking. Also said we had a private bathroom when booking which we technically did but it was across the hall from our room so we had to fully dress when going to and from the shower or toilet, slightly annoying but wasn’t the worst. Overall great stay would recommend!

Well located, well kept with friendly and helpfull staff. Recommend to have breakfast there for the price is the best option. The only thing was having workers VERY early on the other side of the room wall one day.
