Beautiful room, nice view, and very helpful staff.
Location is great for aesthetic but slightly removed from the majority of the sights and best food options. Not a problem if you don’t mind walking for 10 to 20 minutes. The hotel breakfast is not worth adding to the cost as it’s very plain.

Their stuff are very nice and lovely, their services are so helpful. This hotel just newly renovated, very clean, have to mention: the hot shower water here is so good, this is very important for me!!! Will chose again next time when I stay.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The room was perfect (with great AC in crazy hot temps), the breakfast was awesome, and most importantly, the staff was fantastic. They were so kind and generous, and helped us with everything from booking excursions to mailing postcards. If I’m ever in LP again, I’ll be staying here.

A property with character, beautifully decorated with modern facilities in the ideal location to explore Luang Prabang by foot. Friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast. And good air conditioning (a must for the hot season).

We ended up at the Hotel because our previous accommodations at Villa Somphong were below our expectations. Deux Riveres was excellent in service, quality and location. Although a bit above our price point it was very much worth it.
Internet is a bit slow, doors don’t lock too well.

Great location, quiet but within walking distance to all the main sights and restaurants, including Tamarind which is wonderful. Melissa and the team were very friendly and helpful, providing excellent service throughout our stay.

Nice and clean room. Good location. Breakfast is standard. The staff is really nice and accommodating. The room we stayed has a nice size and was facing the back which made it quiet although the balcony was too narrow for the table and chairs. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Gemytligt hotell med mycket trevlig personal. Fantastisk läge invid Mekongflodens biflod. Nära till centrum och en livlig nattmarknad. Hur många härliga restauranger som helst att välja mellan, antingen nära floderna eller inne i stan. Glöm inte att promenera över bambubroarna till byn på andra sidan bifloden.

VDR had the most relaxing environment of any hotel in recent memory. The concierge was copacetic and extremely knowledgeable.

This hotel is in a fine location, on the southern side of the historic peninsula amongst a lovely fusion of French and Lao architecture. A very comfortable and attractive room with air conditioning and a fan.

Located in between two rivers...there are some amazing views very close by to the hotel. It's a cozy home away from home.

Very nice villa with spacious rooms and good amenities. The staff were very helpful and the location is walkable to wats, restaurants and the night market.

The location of VDR is excellent - near the Nam Khan river which goes through the town of Luang Prabang. Within walking distance is the Mekong. Hence the "Deux Rivieres" in the name.
It is quite close to Sakkaline Road, the main street in this part of Luang Prabang. Close by are many grand temples and monasteries and Mount Phousi, a high point here from where one can get a bird's-eye view of Luang Prabang, the countryside, and the Mekong. The climb is invigorating and worth it - with many Buddhist shrines.
The hotel is also walking distance from the Night Market, some great restaurants, many spas and the Day Market.
In all, we really liked the location.
We had a little trouble with the weak WiFi, but our room was at the far end and perhaps that is the price one pays in this part of the world.

Nice hotel on the riverfront offers a beautiful location at a reasonable price. The bed was hard and the walls paper-thin, so we could have slept better, though I've also had far worse. Be sure also to eat at Tamarind just down the street where you'll get a great meal at a reasonable price.

Very nice room with a beautiful river view . The bathroom is excellent but the air conditioning a little bit noisy . The breakfast was just about enough . The location is very good near monuments and good restaurants

ルアンパバーンは小さな街ですが、やはり観光に便利なのは寺院など見どころの近くだと思います。朝6時からの托鉢の見学など徒歩で出かける事が出来、大変便利でした。

The hotel was in a nice location right across from the river.Its very layed back and a peaceful place.Went on the Mekong river to Pac ou caves.Was'nt impressed with the caves but the boat ride was good, great scenery.

Comfortable and clean in the French Quarter. A little distant from the main attractions but still walkable, WIFI did not work in Rm 14 although management had just had the system renewed.

Good quality hotel in a peaceful location facing the Nam Khan river. It is a 10 minute walk away from the night market (the most happening thing in town), and the main street where all stores, bike rentals, activity booking agencies and restaurants are.
The rooms are clean and of a reasonable size. It was overall a good experience.

My room was on the first floor, with a balcony that opens to the main road. On the first night I saw a cockroach crawl in from under the gap of the balcony door…
The breakfast spread was underwhelming, but there are plenty of affordable and delicious restaurants nearby.
The location is good, walking distance to the temples and night market.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room I had was a bit run down, though. The grout in the shower was moldy, and during the daytime, an overwhelming sewage smell coming from the bathroom.

The standard room is small and probably would have been more comfortable if there was less furniture in the room. There's really no need for an armchair in a tiny room. The hotel is in a French Colonial style building. The staff are friendly and the breakfast reasonable. It's 3.5 stars at best, not 4 stars.

Ai passé 7 nuits dans cet hôtel avec plaisir, il est tenu par un patron hollandais plutôt marrant et très décontracté. Il a toujours le sourire mais ne tient pas forcément compte de vos remarques, même les plus constructives ! La responsable de la réception n'a pas le même sourire; pas une foudre de travail ou de conseils non plus, normal car elle vient de la capitale ! Les chambres sont petites, sans aucune vue pour la plupart quand ce n'est pas sur un couloir ou un mur borgne. Tout le mobilier est vétuste, tiroirs qui bloquent, safe inutilisable dans ma chambre. Le lit est confortable, ai obtenu 2 oreillers supplémentaires, le wifi correct, le choix de chaînes TV nul, la réception TV très mauvaise, le petit déjeuner à minima. Cet hôtel est très bien situé le long d'une rivière, munissez vous d'une lampe de poche pour revenir le soir, car la rue est mal éclairée la nuit. Ai démonté à mon arrivée le pommeau de douche pour le nettoyer et le décalcariser et faire en sorte que le filet d'eau soit agréable ! Sinon, ai passé un séjour agréable surtout grâce à la ville de Luang Prabang que j'ai beaucoup appréciée, et la semaine passée sur place sans aucun déplacement extérieur à la ville m'a parue très courte !

Don't understand why this hotel is rated 4* It is 3* at best. Very mediocre breakfast.

Sorry, not sure why this deserves 4 *. 1st night very cold with no alternative heating - but not unusual in SE Asia.
2nd night - weather improved to a nice temperature - So the humidity condenses on the ceiling beams and drips all over the floor and bed. Staff advised that this also happens during the rainy season (April-July).
3rd day - woke up to No electric - Power was shut off as the bill had not been paid ! Checked out!
Security is Not a strong point - access to the rooms area after 22.30 via the unlocked side gate..

The hotel is situated on the banks of the river, not far from city centre and its exceptional restaurants.
The guesthouses are in teak and are on two levels, they look vvery nice from the outside. Unfortunately, we arrived when it was very cold at night (around 5 degrees) in January and the room and bed were very cold. They have no heating system or device to warm the bedsheets. Window was left open all day before I enter the room which was unexpected with this kind of weather outside. It came to worse afterwards when water started to drip from the ceiling due to condensation in two upper rooms. The staff did not react quicly enough to the situation, just proposing to change rooms to join lower rooms which I did, called a westerner builder who did not fix anything, the staf did not show any efficiency in solving the problem. They just said it happened before which left me speechless as I thought why did you let me in this room then if you knew it will happen again?
The city off Luang Prabang has fortunately much more to often but next time if it happens, I won't go to that hotel again.

Do not stay here! Staff could not care less. Room not cleaned. Extremely disappointing as have stayed here under previous owner and totally different experience. Never again!!
