Let’s start with the good. The apartment is big and clean. It’s in a great location, and we felt safe and close to everything. They had Netflix, so we were able to relax to a movie in English at the end of a long day. We would definitely stay here again! Here’s the not so great. Florence stinks. Like, for real. Like a stroll through a sewage factory. Maybe you all know that already. We did not. I was here 20 years ago. I don’t remember that, and it feels like a pretty memorable experience. Due to Florence’s odor issues, the apartment also smelled. This was of course no fault of the owners, and it was going to be like this most places it seems. Next, we washed clothes in the washing machine. My husband had a few new shirts we brought on the trip. One got two tiny hold in it, another 3 splotches, and the black one looks like the wrong side of a lint roller. I would just throw out that doing laundry may not be the best option if you can avoid it. Especially if you intend to sleep at all during the 2.5 hour wash cycle. I’m serious. We started Jumanji a few minutes after we started laundry and stopped some during the movie. Laundry wasn’t done until sometime after the movie was over. Not a big deal, you say? We had to turn the TV up to a volume even my grandparents could have heard without hearing aids just to hear it. We added subtitles too to hedge our bets. These may sound terrible to you, but I am very picky when it comes to hotels, and I would definitely stay again.
